Deep Sync One: Enhanced Onboarding User Guide for The Trade Desk

Improve your offline-to-online programmatic onboarding results with the addition of valuable match identifiers.

Introducing Enhanced Onboarding for The Trade Desk

Deep Sync’s Enhanced Onboarding, an alternative solution for first-party onboarding to The Trade Desk, is available in the Deep Sync One platform. Enhanced Onboarding ingests your first-party data and enhances it with online and offline identifiers, including UID2s, from Deep Sync’s robust identity graph to maximize your match rates. Once a consumer record has been identified and enhanced, the data can be delivered to The Trade Desk within 24 hours.

Get started with Enhanced Onboarding in three simple steps:

  1. Upload your formatted first-party data into Deep Sync One
  2. Map the identifiers in your file to those in the platform
  3. Enable The Trade Desk as your destination and proceed to checkout

A minimum of 5,000 records is required for Enhanced Onboarding.

Our Onboarding Enhancement Process

One of the most significant benefits of Deep Sync One’s onboarding process is the enhancement that we perform prior to delivering your file to the selected destination. This enhancement of your customer data aids in the matching process, which can lead to a higher percentage of matches identified through your desired destination.

In addition to the aforementioned UID2s, we add the following attributes, where available

  • Hashed Email Addresses (HEMs)
  • Telephone Numbers

Individual- and Household-Level Matching

Control the precision of Enhanced Onboarding by toggling between the individual- and household-level matching options. While individual-level matching is more precise, household-level matching extends your reach to other members of the household, ultimately increasing your overall match rates. The individual- and household-level matching options are available within the "Onboard Audience" process documented below.

How Enhanced Onboarding Works

New to Deep Sync One? If so, register for your Deep Sync One account by visiting one.deepsync.com. Select “Get Started” on the login screen, then enter your email address and password. You’ll be prompted to add a credit card and select a destination. Both entries are optional at this stage; however a credit card is required for billing purposes before Enhanced Onboarding can begin. Instructions for establishing The Trade Desk as your destination of choice are noted in the next section.

There are two ways to begin an Enhanced Onboarding workflow; both paths are outlined below.

    • Advertiser-level accounts require a Partner ID, Advertiser Seat ID, and Encryption Key to add the destination

Matching to Identifiers and Field Requirements

Enhanced Onboarding utilizes Deep Sync’s proprietary more-than 260 million-record consumer dataset as its foundation. This robust, privacy-safe dataset is 100% compliant with U.S. privacy rules and regulations and includes more than 750 attributes that can be utilized for matching, enrichment, and targeting.

To perform our match, Enhanced Onboarding requires an Email Address, which can be hashed, a Telephone Number*, or a combination of First Name, Last Name, and ZIP Code at a minimum. A variety of additional columns can be included in your upload file and will be utilized in support of matching accuracy if included. While not required, we do recommend including a header row on your file.

*Files where only telephone numbers are present may experience a lower overall match rate when compared to files with multiple identifiers present.
