An additional Data Enhancement service available on AccuLeads is Deep Sync’s multiple-pass Email Append. This comprehensive process utilizes multiple leading email datasets to append consumer email addresses to your loyalty file. As with any append process, the more accurate and current your data, the better (and higher) match rates you can expect.

The Email Append Process
The following input fields are required for processing an Email Append: Individual Name or First Name and Last Name, Address, City, State, and Zip Code
Prepare Your File
- Start with a clean file. The more accurate and current your customer data is, the better. For recommendations on cleaning your file before the append process, please speak with your Account Representative.
- Open your original file and save the copy with a name of your choosing. We recommend working from a copy to protect the integrity of your original data file.
- Confirm that the following fields are present: Individual Name or First Name and Last Name, Address, City, State, and ZIP Code. For the best results, we recommend combining multiple Address fields if present (for example, Address 1 and Address 2 should be concatenated, or combined, into a single Address field).
- Next, consider adding a UID column. The UID column assigns a unique number to each customer record, ensuring consistency even if the file’s output varies. For instance, if your "John Doe" record was submitted in column 1, our system might occasionally reassign it to a different column in the output. Regardless of the column it appears in, as long as a UID number is assigned, you can reorganize the data by this column to match the original input.

- As a final step, we recommend removing any unnecessary fields from your copied file. While creating an overall smaller file size, this helps to remove the risk of issues during the upload to AccuLeads. Ensure your file is saved and closed before uploading.
Upload Your File to AccuLeads
- Navigate to the “Data Services Portal” at the bottom of the AccuLeads homepage, and select "Data Enhancement." Choose “Email Append” from the list of available options, and click “Next” to continue.
- The Append Settings page loads. You can customize your email append by selecting the type of append as well as the file format and casing. Click “Next” to continue.
AccuLeads’ Email Append offers three match types: Individual, Household, and Household Premier.
- Individual-Level Email Append
An individual-level Email Append occurs when the first name, last name, and postal address of a consumer on the input file match the first name, last name, and postal address of a consumer record from an opt-in email database. - Household-Level Email Append
A household-level Email Append occurs when the last name and postal address of a consumer on the input file match the last name and postal address of a consumer record from an opt-in email database. Household-level matches may include any consumer with the same last name at the provided postal address. - Household Premier Email Append
AccuLeads’ Household Premier Email Append attempts to make an individual-level match first, and then, if that match cannot be made, a household-level match.
- Once your settings are established, mark if your file contains a header row, and then click “Select” to navigate to its location. When added to AccuLeads, the name of your input file will display in the upload field. Click “Upload” to continue. Once your file has been uploaded, you will see its name and the number of records within the right navigation panel.
If you have uploaded the incorrect file, click the “Change to New Client File” button to begin the upload process again. Otherwise, click “Next” to continue.
- The Map Customer File page loads. Here, you will match the column headers on your input file to the fields AccuLeads requires. AccuLeads will attempt to match these fields where possible. To map a field on your input file to the AccuLeads layout, click the drop-down menu and choose accordingly.
- Once all required fields are mapped, click the “View Mapped Records” link to confirm that your file fields are assigned to the appropriate headers. Close the modal window to make any needed changes, and then click “Next” to continue.
Complete Your Email Append Order
- Click “Place Order” to finalize the Email Append process. Once the selected email addresses have been appended to your input file, you will receive a notification to download your file.
- You can find the file by choosing “My Analytics/Services” from the My History menu. To proceed, choose the “Data Append” tab. Your appended file will be included in a Zip file that also includes your match report. Email appends are typically complete within 24 hours. If you experience a file that takes longer than 24 hours to process, please contact your Account Representative for support by calling 800-732-3440.
- If you need to merge the appended results back to your original data file, copy from the UID column to the right, and paste the results into the original file. Check to confirm that the appended email addresses match the names of the customers in your data file (please note that not all email addresses will be an exact match for the name).
