What is Deep Sync’s Pixel?

Deep Sync’s Pixel is a website service that collects consented online signals and matches them to our fully-deterministic identity graph. Once the Pixel is placed on your website, visitors that show interest in your brand are identified when their digital identifiers are matched to Deep Sync's identity graph. Through the connection Deep Sync makes between the visitors' information and our data, you can engage with those same consumers via digital advertising. As your campaign begins, your audience will see your relevant, brand-focused messaging, enticing them to return to your site and make a purchase.

 

How does Pixel support my marketing goals?

Pixel enables you to retarget website visitors with highly relevant digital advertising by turning your website into a lead generation tool. With the Pixel website service from Deep Sync One, you can:  

  • Understand the journey current and prospective customers take when they visit your website
  • Use visitor behaviors to guide marketing messages and sales processes
  • Develop relevant communications for better customer experiences with your brand
  • Engage and convert website visitors with programmatic and social media advertising

 

What companies are best suited to use this service?

Pixel can be beneficial to a wide variety of consumer-focused brands and service providers. Sites with a high level of website traffic will have stronger results than sites with a low level of traffic. Additionally, Deep Sync’s identity graph is consumer data-based Therefore, B2B sites may experience lower-than-expected match rates.


Please note that websites related to adult content, alcohol, drugs, firearms, gambling, or other unsavory/sensitive topics are not permitted.

 

I am an agency. Can I create Pixels on behalf of my clients?

Yes, you can create Pixels on behalf of your clients. You have the ability to create and manage multiple Pixels and related audiences within Deep Sync One.

 

How do I create and implement a Pixel?

There are four primary steps to create and implement your Pixel:

  1. Create your Pixel
  2. Place the Pixel on your website
  3. View website visitor metrics in Deep Sync One
  4. Create in-market audiences for related campaigns

Do I need a website administrator to implement the Pixel?

Yes, in most cases, we recommend that your website administrator implement and test the Pixel to ensure that it is working properly.

 

How does it work if I want to track multiple pages on my site?

Each page will be tracked as long as the pages you want to track reside on the same domain.

 

What if I only want to track a specific page?

You can tag that specific page with the Pixel to ensure that tracking is limited only to the page you want to capture signals for. 

 

Can I create multiple Pixels for multiple sites?

Yes, you can create multiple Pixels to collect visitor information across multiple sites. Visit the Pixel Dashboard to view and manage existing Pixels and create new Pixels. You can add a display name to help you differentiate between Pixels.

 

How long does it take for the Pixel to become active?

The Pixel will start collecting and transmitting data within 24 hours of being placed on your website.

 

How quickly is a visitor’s information captured?

The capture of a visitor’s information is virtually instantaneous and occurs as soon as the page that houses your Pixel loads.

 

Does tracking my website visitors violate current consumer privacy laws?

No, tracking your website visitors does not violate current consumer privacy laws. However, it will be necessary to maintain an updated Privacy Policy that states that this function is occurring on your website. Additionally, user consent is required prior to the activation of tracking technologies. Deep Sync’s Pixel is designed to honor end-user cookie preferences.

 

How are my website visitors identified?

The custom script that creates the Pixel includes instructions that enable the collection of IP addresses from your website visitors. Those IP addresses are collected and matched against Deep Sync’s identity graph. Where matches are made, those records are made available for digital targeting initiatives.

 

How do I view the data that is being collected?

To view metrics of the data that has been collected, please log into Deep Sync One and visit the “Website Overview” page. Here, you will see the total number of events that have been tracked, the number of unique visitors from those events, and the number of unique matched users. You can filter your view by date range. As a default, we display the last 30 days of data. For more information, please reference the “View Website Visitor Metrics” section of our user guide.


For privacy purposes, we do not display the actual contact information associated with your website visitors.

 

What can I do with the data that is being collected on my website visitors? Is it available for export?

The data that is collected from your website is available for digital targeting on platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Google DV360, and The Trade Desk. In addition to digital targeting, you can learn more about your website visitors with Customer Insights. You can also create prospect audiences that demographically resemble your current website visitors with Deep Sync’s Lookalike Audiences. At this time, the data is not available for export.

Can I segment the data that has been collected, or do I have to use it all at once?

Yes, you can segment the data that has been collected by using our “Create Audience” feature. Here, you can create audience segments that match the specific filters you have selected. Please note that the Unique Matched Users total represents the number of records that have been matched to Deep Sync’s identity graph and are available for targeting. For more information, please reference the “Create In-Market Audiences” section of our user guide.

 

What data can I download for other purposes?

At this time, collected data is not available for download or export.

 

What is the cost? Is this a subscription service as long as the Pixel is active?

There is no cost associated with creating and implementing a Deep Sync Pixel. However, subsequent services, such as onboarding data for programmatic and social targeting or creating a Lookalike Audience, may incur costs.

 

How do I stop the collection of data?

To stop the collection of data, you need to deactivate your pixel in the Deep Sync One platform. To deactivate your Pixel, click the “Deactivate” option within the Website Overview page. A modal window displays stating that once your pixel is deactivated, all associated statistics will be removed and cannot be retrieved. To proceed with deactivation, click “Deactivate Pixel.” The data flow into Deep Sync One will stop immediately.


Please note that as long as the Pixel remains present on your site, that data will be collected; however, it will not be delivered to Deep Sync One. You can remove the Pixel from your site to completely stop the data collection process if desired.
